Corruption – key issue again in 2019 polls!

During the 2014 elections Indians were incensed over the enduring culture of corruption at all levels of the government and this was the prime factor that helped Modi to become the PM. Now, on the eve of the 2019 elections, the opposition leaders are unable to find any major faults with Modi's governance.

Lacking any concrete programs for the development of the country, the Congress party has decided to attack Modi with the same coin - a mega corruption case - in spite of the fact that Modi has an unblemished track record in public life. Though Supreme Court, after examining the relevant strategic and confidential documents, have completely ruled out any probe in the Rafale deal, the Congress President has stated that he will take the issue to the ‘People’s Court’!

Unlike the 2014 scenario, the present situation of the Congress and oppositions parties is such that it has become a question of the basic survival of their leaders and consequently they are desperate and frenzied to stop Modi from becoming the PM for a second term. In keeping with Modi's 'zero tolerance' policy against corruption some opposition leaders are already in jail and in the case of many other politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen, and journalists CBI cases are hanging over their heads like the sword of Damocles.

That is why Congress has started a carpet bombing warfare strategy against Modi – attack all his major policies and programs that have impacted them the maximum. So they cleverly crafted so much opposition and hatred against Aadhaar, demonetization, GST, etc. with online social media blitz. Let us briefly look at what the opposition party leaders are up against.

The Genesis of Corruption

In the most unbelievable fashion, the kingpin of bribery and fraudulent conduct in India is a rather timid women and that too a foreigner! It is the rags to riches story of a young foreign women who arrived in India half a century back by way of her marriage to a member of the ruling dynasty, then literally ruled the country like a queen for two decades, and in the process became the country's richest politician.

According to the Business Insider article Meet The 23 Richest Politicians In The World this celebrated woman stands at the 4th position, with only businessman Michael Bloomberg of USA, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, and King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia ahead of her.

This utterly bewildering story of a timid young women jumping into the politics of political skullduggery in India will be an enigma for the future historians. It will also be rather puzzling to the majority of Indians that, having won independence from foreign rule after great sacrifices and prolonged struggle by several Indians over a century, the seasoned veteran leaders of India's grand old party allowed the country to be ruled again by a foreigner!

The Pinnacle of Corruption

It is obvious that the lady could not have accumulated such enormous wealth all by herself; in fact it was her well experienced party leaders who mentored her in the fraudulent schemes and mega scams, and in the process also helped themselves. According to Subramanian Swamy, the former FM is the most corrupt and was this lady’s personal 'money launderer'.

While Indira Gandhi had been convicted of only corrupt electoral malpractices, the abuse of public power for private gain started with the Bofors kickback scandal that implicated Rajiv Gandhi and other Congress party politicians. Since then such corrupt deeds have been consistently practiced and perfected by the party leaders of UPA that culminated in the mega scams during the second UPA term.

By this time many Congress leaders, UPA ministers, their cronies, the Lutyens gang, and other business / political shenanigans have institutionalized corruption and taken the business of looting the country's wealth as their birth right. The criminals, smugglers, hoarders, and other mafia groups also prospered accumulating black money. Several dubious NGOs were also enjoying the free flow of foreign money into their coffers for carrying out their nefarious activities.

The Collapse of Corruption

It was in this scenario that the BJP came to power in 2014 and the scrupulously honest PM Narendra Modi started his campaign against black money and corruption.

The Aadhaar scheme, demonetization, GST etc. were the building blocks of a visionary and logical strategy adopted by the Modi Govt to eliminate black money and corruption at all levels in the government and society. These steps immediately started paying rich dividends and severely affected the illegal and unlawful works of criminals, smugglers, hoarders, real estate mafia, tax evaders, arms dealers, stone pelters of Kashmir, and the ISI of Pakistan – the producers of fake Indian currency.

There were a few other concerted steps taken by the Modi Government to achieve this objective:
  • Modi Govt enacted the Black Money and Imposition of Tax Act 2015 and provided different compliance windows under the Income Declaration Scheme in 2016 and the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana in 2017 that together yielded Rs 72,200 crore as disclosed by 92,000 persons.
  • Modi Govt canceled the licenses of 20,000+ NGOs in a crackdown on foreign funding and anti-national activities. This has angered many foreign forces who were sabotaging the development work of India.
  • Modi completely stopped the practice of PM taking a large media contingent on all foreign tours on board Air India One. He also did not give any press briefings to the media. This naturally invited the wrath of the Lutyens gang.
All the affected groups of people are finding the heat put on by Modi unbearable for their survival. In their simmering anger and hopelessness, they are desperate to do any sacrifice, including banding together into a coalition group, forgetting their ideological differences. There are also many foreign power groups out to stop Modi and they are also lending their full might through their Indian agents.

Many of these forces opposed to Modi are employing the latest social media weapons to unleash a psychological and media war against Modi. They have been at it incessantly and you find that most Indians today have been brainwashed and programmed, both indirectly and directly, subtly and overtly, over the last one year. And now with the 2019 election approaching, the process of indoctrination and brainwashing the common man is gathering momentum.
