A New Dawn for Young Minds: Building Bridges Across Generations

Image
(A summary of this extended post can be found at the end.) T his post follows up on my earlier piece titled   Beyond Condemnation: A Deeper Look at Responsibility , published on September 14, 2025, in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s tragic murder. In that article, I made a heartfelt appeal to his widow, Erika Kirk, urging her to consider a radically different path in responding to the intense anger directed at the accused, Tyler Robinson. I respectfully invited Erika to explore an alternative approach by asking:  "what if you chose a different, more  courageous  path? A path not of  hate  for the 22-year-old, but of  radical compassion . Instead of seeking retribution, you could lead your family in a new direction— a mission to heal the deep divisions in our world with love and empathy . This would not be an act of weakness, but one of  extraordinary strength , offering a powerful  counter-narrative  to the cycle of violence". ...

Beyond Condemnation: A Deeper Look at Responsibility

Image
The brutal killing of influential conservative activist Charlie Kirk raises a powerful and complex question about responsibility and blame in the wake of a tragedy . I would humbly challenge the common impulse to solely condemn an individual and instead urge a deeper examination of the societal factors that may have contributed to their actions . Charlie Kirk Family Image Credit: The Web   The suspected killer, Tyler Robinson, was a standout student and described as “very considerate,” “quiet,” and “respectful,” and was considered a “good kid” by those who knew him. His family, described as “good, down-to-earth, nice people,” is not particularly political or religious. Despite this, Robinson had recently developed some interest in politics . He was a pre-engineering major at Utah State University for one semester in 2021 and currently a third-year student in Dixie Technical College’s electrical apprenticeship program. A Professional Critique of My Snap

Image
I wanted to better understand my photographic work from a professional standpoint. So, I asked a very good friend of mine for a professional critique of this photo. It's a friend I trust with everything. Here's the analysis I received, with suggestions for improvement, which I am sure would help my photographic enthusiasts. By the way, this photograph is shot at 14:20 hrs. IST with my Nothing phone A001 ( ƒ/1.85 1/3802     7.1 mm     ISO101)  from the terrace of my house in Kozhikode, Kerala, a place full of coconut trees wherever you look, with rich green foliage in this rainy season. My Snap (And in case you are curious to know: my go-to creative friend is not a Facebook friend, but Gemini!) Overall Impression The photo is a straightforward documentary shot, capturing a clear view of the coconut trees against the sky. It is a good snapshot but lacks some of the key elements that would elevate it to a professional-grade photograph. Technical Aspects Sharpnes...

Why I Write Blogs

Image
I started writing blogs on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ntunni but soon realized that I needed a dedicated platform for blogging. Facebook offers minimal formatting options and you can't create a unique look and feel that reflects your writing style. Also, it's challenging for me as well as for my friends to discover my older blog posts on Facebook.  Image courtesy Pixabay On a dedicated blog , people can easily search and browse an archive. Another problem is that Facebook's algorithm controls what shows up in users' feeds. Even with a large following, only a small percentage of friends might see your posts. Finally, your content technically resides on Facebook's platform. They could change policies and even remove certain contents without notice. A dedicated blog platform gives you complete ownership and control . Therefore, I created a new website to host my blogs, namely www.howcanwematter.com and I use the Google Blogger tool to create and publish my ...

This morning I received a set of questions from my 9-year old granddaughter from Singapore, studying in Grade 3. She is interviewing her grandfather as part of her teaching assignment on the topic of ' Young Entrepreneurs '.

My dear grandson - you have turned eighteen! Today is the first day of a new chapter in your life. You only have one more year as a teenager, when your age number ends with ' teen'.  You have turned 18 but always remember that your parents will never stop nagging and telling you what to do!

Leonhard Euler, one of the most ingenious mathematicians of the 18th century came up with a puzzle in 1782 which an Indian mathematician solved 177 years later in 1959! The puzzle goes like this:

Education in the Vedic Civilization of India

The ancient India had several universities , many of them devoted to higher learning, which attracted scholars and students from as far away as China, Persia, and Greece . India's Vedic civilization had given great prominence to education in the society. The two most famous ancient Indian universities, and also the oldest ones in the world, are Takshashila and Nalanda .

This is an important national milestone in the development of the country and probably the most creditable achievement of the Modi government as it will touch and shape each and every person of our future generation for years to come.

Evolution of Education!

The first school that I attended in my village was a primary school called Paral School and Koran Master was its Head. It has weathered 70 years of sustained existence, now with the name South Kuthuparamba UP School . The roof is tiled now, whereas it was covered with thatched coconut leaves during my days.

Chinatown Heritage Centre, Singapore

Yesterday we travelled 100 years back in time to have a rare glimpse into the lives of early Chinese migrants in Singapore. These migrants left their villages in China as they were driven by famine, floods, and unrest, and came to Singapore with the hope of earning a living and seeking a better life.
