Convert Facebook to Blog Posts!

Facebook is not a blogging tool, though some people claim Facebook Notes, Facebook Pages, Facebook Groups are possible alternatives for people who might not have their own dedicated blog or website. And I have been using Facebook for Blogging on a variety of topics.

However, these Facebook posts can't be grouped under different subject categories and this is a serious shortcoming for bloggers. Also, the sheer amount of information makes it hard to find certain posts or topics in Facebook.

Recently I discovered that Facebook allows me to transfer a copy of my posts and notes to another service such as Google Docs, Daybook, Blogger, and WordPress. I chose to transfer to Google Blogger since it is an easy to use tool and I have already created a website to store the blogs.

During the transfer process, Facebook announces that it will transfer a maximum of 100 posts at a time, but all that it does is to transfer 5 posts at a time; and you can only create 1 Blogger job in 24 hours.

Facebook does not have the concept of a Title for the posts. So after transferring the contents to Blogger I have to reformat each post to make the content readable better, along with an appropriate Title. Since this task takes quiet some time I am OK with the limitation of transferring 5 posts a day!

Now I have already transferred around 70 posts and I am quite happy with the results. See this for yourself at my new website How Can We Matter.

I am sure this technique will benefit all those who are prolific Facebook posters!
