A spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs, India said that it took special note of the New York judge's decision on Monday to set an April 15 trial date for Donald Trump's criminal hush-money case. It observed with concern that the judge's decision will up the odds the former president will face at least one verdict that could complicate his bid to retake the White House on November 5.

The MEA spokesman emphasized:

"In the case of Donald Trump, India wants to encourage fair, transparent, timely legal processes which should not be objected by anyone."

This is what I wish is the Latest News, Breaking News, Top News Headlines ... today from India and around the world.

This is the pleasant dream I woke up from this morning! Our dreams are about the yearnings that are held deep inside us.

Blatant Interference

During the last fortnight or so I was reading about the blatant interference of two foreign countries in India's internal affairs.

First, it was Sebastian Fischer, spokesperson for German Federal Foreign Office saying that like anyone else facing accusations, Delhi's Chief Minister Mr. Arvind Kejriwal was entitled to a fair and impartial trial. He said:

"We assume and expect that the standards relating to the independence of the judiciary and basic democratic principles will also be applied in this case."

Later, it was a US State Department spokesperson commenting on Kejriwal's arrest:

"We encourage a fair, transparent and timely legal process for Chief Minister Kejriwal."

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, also commented reaffirming the US's position on ensuring justice and fairness in legal proceedings for India's opposition Congress party, amidst rising diplomatic tensions between the two countries:

“We are also aware of the Congress party's allegations that tax authorities have frozen some of their bank accounts in a manner that will make it challenging to effectively campaign in the upcoming elections. And we encourage fair, transparent and timely legal processes for each of these issues."

There have been several instances in the past when the US has ‘meddled’ in India’s affairs.Washington had, in the past too, interfered in New Delhi’s internal matters. It had commented on India's Citizenship Amendment Act and the state of religious freedom in the country.

My Dream

A succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during the sleep generates our dream. I dare to put my dream down on paper showing the courage and faith that it will come true.

"Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly."

 - Langston Hughes.
