What is Health!
Health is commonly defined as the state of being free from illness or injury. However, listen to Dr B M Hegde's TEDx talk on what health really is!
There is a lot you can learn and follow from his talks. His lectures really struck a chord with me because, much before I heard about him I have been following many of the principles and practices that he has been advocating based on his long years of experience as a Cardiologist, Professor of Medicine, Scientist, and Author.
While doctors have their own place in the modern society, abdicating the responsibility for one's own health with total dependence on modern medicine and periodic visits to hospitals for anything and everything concerned with one's health, is not something that appeals to me.

With the proliferation of social media you get to hear a lot more about the research work and advances on alternative systems of medicine, integration of medicine with various alternative healing and metaphysical systems, on holistic health, happiness, spiritual well-being, illness, healing, aging, health care, medical ethics, etc.
The famous physician-authors who have influenced my thinking on health and wellness include Andrew Weil, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Bruce Lipton, Candace Pert, Sandeep Jauhar, Atul Gawande, Dean Ornish, Caldwell Esselstyn, Ellen Jane Langer, B M Hegde, and Norman Cousins (a patient), to name a few.
First, please read the Note from TED about this talk:
Please do not look to this talk for medical advice. We’ve flagged this talk, which was filmed at a TEDx event, because it contains sweeping generalizations and medical fallacies. The assertions about medicine are based on the speaker's own theory and lack legitimate scientific support.
