Institutional Mechanism to Protect Artists

I'm not a fan or follower of Bollywood. But how the established people in the Bollywood industry gangs up against talented new comers even to the extent of pushing them to the verge of suicide, is monstrous and horrifying.

These allegations of harassment by the bigwigs of Bollywood demonstrate that in real life they are worse than the villains and hoodlums that they portray in the films.

Sushant Singh has already toppled over the border and now we have another gifted actress, Kangana Ranaut, who has revealed that she is desperately clinging on to the edge.

We can very well assume that there would be many such people who are not in a position to express their feelings and views. Such brilliant artists, who may strut on the screen with poise and confidence, are often sensitive and lonely people who can bring out their best only with the full support of their colleagues.

It is high-time the Government intervened in the matter and established an institutional mechanism to protect such vulnerable artists from harassment and exploitation that they are subjected to. And even the vernacular film industries such as Malayalam, Telugu, etc are under the control of such mafia.
