Aryan Khan In Narco-terrorism!

Poor Aryan Khan caught in Narco-terrorism! Just like other forms of terrorism, I am convinced that this case has nothing to do with a religion (Islam) or a section of the society (Bollywood).

Those who are trying to defend the young offender and his celebrated father by saying that Muslims / Bollywood celebrities are being targeted are actually playing into the hands of the narcotics traffickers, who trapped the vulnerable youngster in the first place. Similarly those majority of the peace-loving Muslims and Bollywood celebrities, who abhor any forms of religious or narco-terrorism, are indirectly supporting radicals / fundamentalists / terrorists by keeping quiet and shying away from strongly criticizing their acts.

That religion has nothing to do with this case is patently clear from the fact that both the drug traffickers as well as the drug consumers come from all religious backgrounds. So it is extremely important not to target all members of a specific community or that of the Bollywood fraternity.

And we have to be extremely wary of those callous politicians as well as those Bollywood agents of terrorism who are trying to exploit the situation to achieve their nefarious means and ends. In particular, we need to strongly condemn the acts of the Minister, who viciously and arrogantly attacks the central government and the NCB officer with the most ludicrous claims, thereby causing more damage to the case and also putting his minority community to the utmost shame.

Though many people are criticizing Aryan Khan and his co-offenders, we have to remember that we are all social beings and therefore, thrive on socializing in school, work, and community. Consequently, peer pressure as well as familial, social, and individual factors contribute to drug use and drug abuse. Also emotional distress, anxiety, depression, parental neglect, lack of moral guidance, and the action of the drug itself can all be contributing factors.

This young man appears to be a victim of bad circumstances. In this particular case, the agents of drug traffickers found the perfect and exemplary target in this youth with several vulnerabilities - son of a famous father, whose enormous wealth, religious identity, and leadership position in film industry can all be fully exploited to the hilt.

And then there are the vulture lawyers who feed on human misery, and in the name of defending their clients, come up with the most idiotic and outrageous arguments that only help in further cementing the case and providing an inexhaustible source of funds for their prolonged affiliation with the case.

In the midst of all these happenings the legendary father and his family stand lonely and helplessly, seeing through the charade of 'friends' and 'well wishers', and realizing for the first time that there are invaluable things in life money can't buy in this world. I hope that once the father, son, and family come out chastised from this nightmarish situation, they will turn their lives around completely, and utilize their energy and resources for the betterment of the society, by wiping away the drug menace, saving the many innocent addicts, becoming effective spokesmen to disassociate terrorism from religion, and getting passionately involved in nation building.

Let me end by :
  • exhorting the Modi government to be compassionate to all the victims of the narcotics mafia and
  • appealing the courts to award suspended sentences to the guilty offenders subject to strictly complying with obligations such as completion of drug treatment programs, payment of heavy fines, doing appropriate community services, undergoing probation programs, etc.
The main object of our criminal laws is more to reform the offenders than to punish them. Instead of keeping the accused and guilty with hardened criminals in a prison, these empathetic acts will give the young adults a chance to return to their lives, and allow the society to utilize their talents and resources for the improvement of the Bollywood community and the development of the nation.
